It's finally here! I feel like we have been talking & writing about Taste of Toronto for months now, and after attending the opening night yesterday, I urge you, don't miss out! Celebrity chefs, demonstrations, wine tastings and most of all, the delicious food was very worthwhile. In fact, I'm going again on Saturday ;)
Once you validate your ticket at the front and enter through the gates, it's time to eat! The dishes offered at the restaurant booths go for 6, 8 or 10 'crowns'. Crowns are the official currency at Taste for you to buy food and 1 crown = $1. Just head on over to the Crown Stations to load up your ToT cards with crowns. I recommend loading it up with around $25-30. Any leftover crowns will be donated to the event's charity partner, Second Harvest.
There's also a slew of food & drink vendors on site such as Momofuku Milkbar (got my crack pie), Ice Volcano Ice Cream, Greenhouse Juice Co., Baretta Family Farm & more! Metro is also providing delicious little frozen yogurt bars so make sure you go find them!
The dishes we had at ToT:
Patria’s Seafood Paella: Bacalao, Mussels, Shrimp, Bay Scallops,Fish, Peas, Crispy Serrano
10 Crowns
The Grove's Octopus, with pork, corn & black garlic
10 Crowns
The Harbord Room / THR & Co.'s Griddled Crab & Prawn Roll, with spicy pickled cucumber, avocado, crispy bacon & old bay chips
10 Crowns
JaBistro’s Oshizushi: blowtorched & pressed sushi with shrimp, mackerel & salmon
10 Crowns
Mixed Berry or Nutella Nitrogen Ice Cream from Ice Volcano Ice Cream - so creamy and delish!
$6 each or $10 for 2
You can still buy tickets online for $30, which includes 6 crowns.
Don't forget to make all your friends jealous by sharing your photos at Taste of Toronto & tag us @foodsisterhood as we want to see what you're having!
