REVIEW | Rock Lobster Food Co. - popular Ossington Strip eatery provides creative ways to enjoy your lobster

Who doesn't like lobster, right? Rock Lobster has been creating a stir in Toronto's food scene as the city's very first lobster centric eatery by owner Matt Dean Pettit since its opening in 2011.  It's still seeing long line ups and a huge fan-base with their fresh & creative lobster dishes.

2013 Mid Autumn festivities!

It's always great to have a reason to celebrate and eat good food. Mid autumn festival this year on September 19th, 2013 was perfect for just that. Mid autumn festival or harvest moon festival is very well known in Asia in countries such as Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Taiwan and Korea. They may have different names but it's all celebrated on the same day when there is a full moon. Not to worry though, it's not about celebrating werewolves!

EVENT | Getting chocolate-crazy at the Chocolate Tales Workshop in St. Lawrence Market

We have major soft spots for chocolate. Milk chocolate or white chocolate has always been both of our favourites, but with age comes sophistication of the palette we suppose as we've started to embrace dark chocolate as well. As simple as a chocolate bar may seem, there is actually a lot to learn before creating that perfect taste and texture.  Last weekend, we had the chance to explore the world of chocolate!

This past Sunday we tried out one of Chocolate Tales’ chocolate making class. They have workshops at many different locations such as (The St. Lawrence Market, The Mad Bean, Swansea Town Hall, and more). We headed over to the St. Lawrence market location. Each class runs for about 90 minutes give or take, but doors usually open 30 minutes before the class start. I would recommend getting there early so you can get a good seat and be able to sit with whoever you’re going with!

REVIEW | DEQ at the Ritz Carlton - afternoon tea with beautiful presentation & delightful treats

After a long & busy week, all I want to do is indulge in yummy food, whether it be savoury or sweet.  What better way to satisfy both those cravings than an afternoon tea filled with scones, tarts, sandwiches and some mindless chitchat?

This past Saturday (a rainy & gloomy one at that), I headed over to DEQ at the Ritz Carlton in Toronto with one of my friends for an afternoon of pure culinary indulgence.

RECIPE | Hearty Beef Barley Soup to warm you up!

The worst part about cooking or baking for me is the clean up so I'm never one to turn down trying a new recipe that requires minimal clean up and is easy to make! Also with the weather in Toronto starting to cool down, an easy hot recipe is just what I was looking for!

REVIEW | Lion City Restaurant - authentic South East Asian cuisine in Mississauga

Lion City Restaurant has been around in Mississauga for more than ten years now serving Malay, Singapore, Thai and Indonesian food. There aren’t any restaurants with this combination of cuisines available in Mississauga so it’s no wonder they’ve been able to stay open for such a long time.

REVIEW | Biff's Bistro - Toronto's casual, yet refined French cuisine by Oliver & Bonacini

Being a big fan of Oliver & Bonacini's Jump Restaurant  (read review), I was excited to head to Biff's Bistro for dinner to celebrate my friend's birthday.  It is located on Front St, just off Yonge, right beside the O&B Cafe and Grill.  The European inspired tablecloths, an eye-catching red door and the name 'Biff's' lit up 'Moulin Rouge' style, had me excited to try some French dining.

REVIEW | The White Brick Kitchen - a lovely Brunch in the midst of Toronto's Koreatown

Brunch on the weekends is a welcome treat when you work a 9-5 job Monday to Friday. However, living west and traveling east on a weekend can be a little tiresome because it feels like a day of commute for me.  The thought of trying out The White Brick Kitchen in Korea town was tempting enough for me to finally make that trek.

RECIPE | Granola Bars on the go!

I’ve been on a health-craze lately and I'm trying very hard to make a lot of what I eat to avoid processed food. I won’t say how well it’s going because it’s extremely hard to turn down a crunchy bag of chips or a bite out of a sweet chocolate bar.  I decided to start small and make my own granola bars!

REVIEW | Chinese Dumpling House - Authentic taste for a price that's hard to beat!

I rarely get a craving specific to dumplings but when I do, I'll go to far lengths to satisfy it. Luckily for me, when I got the craving this time, I was already at Metro Square and dumplings were just a few steps away at  Chinese Dumpling House.

REVIEW | To-Ne Sushi - Toronto's best fusion rolls & fresh sashimi on Queen Street West

There's a lot of sushi restaurants in Toronto that I like but if I had to pick one place for creative & delicious rolls, it would have to be To-Ne Sushi, located right on Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue.  Recently, I was in the area, so I had to pay a visit to settle my sushi roll cravings!

REVIEW | Terroni Adelaide - fresh pastas made in-house & traditional Italian pizzas

Had an intense craving for Italian one night for dinner so my friend and I decided to try a place we both haven't been to.  Terroni was on my mind for a while now so thought this was the perfect opportunity to finally try and see what all the talk was about!  We went to the Adelaide location  in the financial district, it's easily accessible for anyone.
