REVIEW | C'est Bon Restaurant - Midtown's quick & delicious lunch spot for Chinese food

Most people get an hour for lunch if working a 9-5 job, which I do. When I want to get outside the office, I make sure to look for a restaurant with good food and also speedy service. I recommend taking a visit to C'est Bon in the Midtown neighbourhood that offers both!

REVIEW | Bushi Udon Kappo - Midtown Toronto restaurant offering house made udon noodles & other traditional Japanese cuisine

I'm a big fan of noodles, so of course I love Udon! The chewy, bouncy and smooth texture of Udon noodles in a warm bowl of soup is the perfect way to warm up during the cold Canadian winter months, so when I heard that Bushi Udon Kappo make their noodles in-house, I had to try it for myself.  It was also convenient that it is located right at Yonge & St. Clair, just a few blocks from my workplace.

REVIEW | Swish by Han - the best fusion menu combining traditional Korean with a modern American twist

I can't believe it's taken this long for me to eat at Swish by Han. I've been to their other location, OddSeoul, which I loved, so I had high expectations for the Han brothers' original restaurant in Toronto.  With the launch of their new 2014 menu, it was the perfect excuse to visit. This posh and hip Korean Fushion Restaurant is located on Wellington, just between Yonge St. and Church St.

REVIEW | Kevin's Taiyaki 붕어빵 - Korean/Japanese fish shaped dessert that's too good to resist

There's a few things we love about the frosty Canadian Winter, despite freezing our butts off!  It's none other than these fish-shaped waffle cakes called Boonguh Bbang / Taiyaki, filled with either red bean, black bean, green bean or custard.  They're available in Toronto via Kevin's Taiyaki.

RECIPE | quick & easy butter-free oatmeal raisin cookies

I LOVE cookies whether it's baking or eating them :)! Sometimes it's hard to find a recipe that's a bit on the healthier side because most cookie recipes ask for a lot of butter. The following recipe has no butter and uses oil instead.

REVIEW | Dai Ichi - Mississauga's Japanese/Korean restaurant offering a la carte Sushi

It’s a constant struggle deciding on where to go for Japanese food. So many factors go into deciding whether it’s going to be all you can eat or a one that only offers a la carte. My bottomless pit of a stomach wants to go for all you can eat but you have to factor in that quality may be sacrificed for quantity.  We finally decided to go to Dai Ichi – an a la carte Japanese restaurant that has been in business for many years.

REVIEW | Daal Roti - a quaint Indian restaurant tucked away in Mississauga

Brampton is no stranger to Indian Cuisine and with so many choices, it can be difficult to find a good one. When we go out for Indian, we try to stay away from big name restaurants and franchises when there are so many little unique restaurants.  Daal Roti is highly rated and for good reason too!

REVIEW | Sam James Coffee Pocket - a no-fuss, no-BS, quickie coffee bar in Koreatown

I'm sure many coffee-lovers in the city are already aware of the two Sam James Coffee Bar locations on Harbord and King St.  It was a mere coincidence that on one afternoon, I happen walking on Bloor Steet (just had some Korean soondubu that day) that I saw this hidden gem called the Sam James Coffee Pocket!  And, what a perfect name for this location.

REVIEW | Yakitori Kintori - izakaya that specializes in yakikushi by KINKA family (creators of Guu, Kinton, Jabistro)

A new izakaya that specializes in Yakitori (skewered & grilled chicken) just opened in Koreatown at Kinton Ramen 2's second floor location.  This is KINKA family's newest restaurant addition in Toronto.  They're best known for the ever-popular Guu izakaya, JaBistro, and Kinton Ramen.  As a huge fan of skewered food, I couldn't wait to try it out.  I made my way there for late dinner during their soft opening.

REVIEW | Sariwon Korean BBQ - quality over quantity with high grade cuts of beef ribs & sirloins

Korean BBQ is loved by everyone and there are so many places in the city that offers the tabletop grilling of the oh-so-popular marinated short ribs.  At most of those places I find that, while the food is delicious, the beef lacks quality.  That being said, when I want Korean BBQ for beef sirloin, I head to Sariwon Korean BBQ Restaurant!
