REVIEW | Resto la Banquise - Montreal poutine at its best #FSinMontreal

A trip to Montreal isn't complete without some poutine!  We headed to Resto la banquise, a famous restaurant, known for their delicious fries & cheese curd dish without hesitation.  It's located a few blocks East of Rue St. Denis, one of Montreal's main streets with great shopping.

You won't miss the delightly yellow brick building with a big orange banner.  Resto la banquise has been in the city since 1968, offering Montrealers various poutine dishes, breakfast and more.

Inside, you see the open kitchen on the left and the dining area on the right.  Of course we were faced with a line at 3pm, but we were happy to wait as the line was moving pretty fast.  We were also told that the restaurant is super busy late night, as many people like to drop by for some poutine after a night out.

Instead of all the amazing toppings you can get on your poutine here, we decided to go with the Classic Poutine.  It's basically fries, gravy/bbq sauce and cheese curds - simple enough - but it was probably the best poutine we've ever had... to date!  Clara and I both like "soggy fries" that a lot of our friends find gross.  We loved that the fries were soft but also had a bit of crisp.

To eat with our poutine, we also ordered the Greek Salad.  The portion was very generous with fresh lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, red onions, black olives and a LOT of feta cheese.  We really appreciated this lighter dish to go with our Poutine.

If you're in Montreal, this is definitely a must-try. They won't disappoint!
