REVIEW | Ravi Soups - offering perfect bowls of hearty soup, fit for a chilly Canadian winter

After our visit to CTV as the audience for The Social, we needed to grab lunch as we were famished.  After tweeting our foodie friends about where to eat in the area, we took Chanry's (@TheRealChanry) suggestion and headed to Ravi Soups, which was the closest from other places recommended.  Oh, are we glad we stepped inside Ravi Soups!

The eatery itself is small and cozy and you can see the hearty and warm soups cooking in the open kitchen as you walk to the dining area in the back.  Order at the counter in the front and take a seat on the huge wooden table that can be shared amongst up to 10 customers.

Bowl of soups and individual wraps range from 7.99 to 8.99 each but you can get a soup & wrap combo for 10.99.  We didn't know about this option so we each got a hearty bowl of soup.

I got the special of the day, which was the Ravi Stew (main picture).  It's filled with an abundance of beans, chicken, wild rice, edamame, and cilantro.  I loved that it had a spicy kick!

Clara got the Porcini Mushroom Bisque with crispy shallots and truffle oil.  It had a light broth but still packed a punch and offered flavour in every bite. The pepper did seem to overwhelm your palette closer to the end of the bowl and the soup became a little bit too spicy.

After our visit, we are definitely fans and we can't wait for our next visit! I mean, who doesn't love a good bowl of soup? If you're in the area, drop by for a delicious, filling and affordable lunch.
