LAUNCH | Jack Astor's Dundas Square - Winter Fling menu & craft beers provides a yummy escape from the Canadian Winter

If you haven't been to Jack Astor's lately, you probably haven't heard of their Winter Fling Menu and you are definitely missing out! The menu is only available until January 19th so visit a Jack Astor's soon and check out the wide range of craft beers and carefully chosen food items to complement the beer!

The Cluckin' Chicken Dippers with tender chicken pieces tossed in their signature seasoned flour fried to a crisp golden brown. Despite being fried, they still tasted very light and we loved that you can customize the chicken with an assortment of sauces and seasonings including strawberry bacon!

You'll have to check out your local Jack Astor's for their full Winter Fling Craft Beer offerings as different provinces will be offering a different selection.

The Mill St. Organic Lager was light and smooth, just the way I like my beers to be. It's the type of beer that you wouldn't get too full off of, so you can enjoy with any meal.

The Muskoka Cream Ale is preservatives free with some fruity and grassy flavours.  Also loved the hint of toffee at the end of eat gulp.

The playful bottle of the Flying Monkey Hoptical Illusion Almost Pale Ale caught our attention and bonus for being local! It wasn't as light as we thought but it was still tasty. It definitely had a kick to it and would go perfectly with the Chicken Dippers.

Here's another shot of the assortment of sauces and seasonings you can pair with the chicken! Our favourite was definitely the strawberry bacon but the Korean BBQ and Pineapple Boss were tasty as well!

The Asiago Shrimp & Smoked Mozza Ravioli was Monica's favourite by far.  We decided to share this entree as we were getting full, a choice we definitely regret!  The ravioli was nicely cooked to start but what made this dish super was the variety of textures and flavours that worked really well together.  It doesn't leave you feeling super heavy either!

Holiday Brie Chicken glazed with a honey dijon mustard and topped with spicy pecans, toasted almonds, dried cranberries, apricots and Brie cheese. The chicken was very moist and the honey dijon mustard taste was very faint which is great even for people who do not like the taste of dijon mustard. The Brie cheese was very light as well and paired well with the chicken. Everyone loves mashed potatoes and these ones definitely hit the spot with the sweet onion gravy!

Thank goodness for our second stomach for desserts because the Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake with a warm toffee pudding served with whipped cream and ice cream was delicious. The warm pudding with the cold ice cream was so decadent. The only thing that would have made it even better is if it was a tad less sweet.

Cherry on Top Chocolate Trifle with a layering of German chocolate cake, fresh whipped cream and brandied cherries. The trifle was definitely much lighter than the pudding and not as sweet. If you aren`t a huge fan of cherries, this dessert probably isn`t for you.

We hope some of these menu items are here to stay but to avoid missing out, don`t forget that the Winter Fling festival is only around until January 19th! Save your favourite Jack Astor`s menu items for after the beer festival!
