REVIEW | La maison du macaron - boutique bakery with over 20 flavours of French macarons #FSinMontreal

We looked up some places we can visit in Montreal to get our hands on some  French macarons and many recommended La maison du macaron.  The well-known patisserie  located in the Plateau mont royal neigbourhood along with L'avenue, Resto la banquise & other delicious eateries.

La maison du macaron has two entrances but connected from the inside the shop - one, as a sit down area 'Salon de tea' where you can enjoy the macarons and other delectable desserts with tea and two as a quick shop for macarons.

We were impressed by the number of classic and unique flavours, ranging from vanilla, chocolate, raspberry to prune, strawberry rhubarb and caramelized macadamia!  So many to choose from!  They also come out with new flavours each season.  On our visit, they featured the fall/winter flavours such as nougat, mango & orange, matcha tea with red current (fave) and chocolate & espalette.

Check out their entire flavour list here.

That's not all.  There was also a small selection of perfect and too-pretty-to-eat tarts and mini cakes.  We couldn't get any pictures of the 'macaron glacé' that they also have.  'macaron glacé' is a macaron ice cream sandwich with gelato - we know... it sounds amazing!

Salon de thé

We had to get a couple of boxes to enjoy and it was moments until they were finished!  We highly recommend visiting La maison du macaron for some tea and desserts if you have time.  If not, at least stop by for a dozen macarons to cure your sweet tooth!

Note: they also have a booth at the Eaton Centre offering many flavours of macarons.
