Eating healthy does not unnecessary mean eating bland vegetables for every single meal as there are countless cookbooks that offer health conscious meals that taste great. Snacking however, seems to be a different story for us. Whether we've craving sweet or savoury snacks, it  seems to be so easy to pick up that bag of chips and before you know it you're scrounging for crumbs at the bottom of the bag. REVIEW | The Shore Club for Winterlicious 2014 - upscale dining in Toronto's financial district

Walking into The Shore Club made us feel like we were walking right onto the set of Mad Men. With its high ceiling, exquisite wood furniture and waiters in white waist coasts, it certainly is a place with high standards set to impress. Breakfast at Tiffany's playing in the background on the TVs was icing on the cake.

Just a couple of weeks after my first visit to El Caballito Tequila Bar during it's soft opening (read review here), we were invited back for their official media launch event.  Of course, without hesitation we accepted as I couldn't wait to indulge myself in their Fituras Mixtas again and to try the Antojitos that I missed out on last time!

REVIEW | Old Mill Inn - an elegant afternoon tea experience in Toronto's heritage boutique hotel

Last Sunday, I headed over to The Old Mill Inn for an afternoon tea with my mom.  I knew about their popular afternoon tea and despite the Inn being located close to my home, I haven't made a visit until just recently.  The Old Mill Inn's customary English Tea service has been enjoyed by many since 1914 and it combines traditional favourites and contemporary flavours.

It's only a few days away so we thought we'd give our two cents on the restaurants with a Valentine's Day prix fixe menu that looks oh-so-tempting!  And it's not just for couples anymore, one of the restaurants we picked actually has a "singles" communal table, where you can spend the night mingling with good food and great company!

REVIEW | Cibo Wine Bar for Winterlicious 2014 - a trendy ambiance with tasty dinner & cocktails on King West

Cibo Wine Bar is a sister restaurant to Yorkville's Ciao Wine Bar by Liberty Group. Both Cibo and Ciao offer the same menu by Chef Saverio Macri, an authentic rustic Italian and exudes a very trendy and chic vibe that many nightlife venues by the Liberty Group signifies. I have always been a fan of the food and ambiance of Ciao Wine Bar, so I took the advantage duing Winterlicious to try the spot on King West.

REVIEW | Destingo for Winterlicious 2014 - quaint & casual trattoria on Queen West

Queen West is one of those neighbourhoods where you're bound to find a great place to eat.. on every corner! I have yet to visit Destingo so Winterlicious was a good excuse for me to see what they're all about.  Yes, it's hard to judge a restaurant during this time as service may be compromised, but my dinner at Destingo was close to perfect.

REVIEW | Luma for Winterlicious 2014 - another O&B restaurant that doesn't disappoint

Located in the Tiff Bell Lightbox, Luma is another restaurant by Oliver & Bonacini that doesn’t disappoint. Its understated entrance does not do justice to the atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurant is classy and spacious and leaves more than enough arm space between you and the next table to let you have a comfortable conversation with your diners.

REVIEW | Royal Boonsik 로얄분식 - spicy rice cake, fish cake soup, tempura veggies, kimbap & more Korean fast food!

When you're in Koreatown, or Uptown, there's an abundance of restaurants that offer 'Boonsik.'  Boonsik basically means Korean fast food that is prepared and served fast with typical menus  being mandoo (dumplings), dukbokki (spicy rice cakes), and twee-gim (various deep fried veggies).  One restaurant that offers boonsik that has been consistently offering delicious food is none other than Royal Boonsik in Koreatown.
