Line ups usually mean that there's genuinely good food or over rated fad that's been hyped up. L'Avenue is definitely not just a fad and we were willing to wait outside in the cold to find out just how good the their popular brunch is!
The interior reminded us of a very hip and modern diner.
The fruit smoothies come in a big glass - almost too adorable to drink! Monica got the Mango, Orange & Lychee juice. It wasn't too watery or thick, it was of perfect consistency to drink and was very fruity.
They start off by giving everyone a skewer of fruit. Loved the presentation of the fruit and it was definitely refreshing to start off our meal with healthy fruit!
This crepe is definitely a good choice if you are looking for something on the lighter side. A whole wheat crepe with cottage cheese and cooked apples. It tasted like a lighter version of an apple pie and no one is going to complain about having dessert for breakfast!
The Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict is served with seasoned hash browns in between generous servings of the eggs beny. The Hollandaise sauce was delicious with the fresh smoked salmon.
We would definitely go back to L'Avenue if we're in Montreal again. We went a little past brunch time and it was still pretty busy. They also have lunch items on their menu so if brunch isn't your thing you won't have to worry!
