EVENT | Baby Showers - celebrating a major life event with delicious food & amazing people!

Planning parties are a lot harder than they seem. It’s not just as simple as sending out an invite and hoping all goes well. Here is a recap of the food we had at the recent baby shower I threw for my sister who is expecting her first baby!

Chef’s table graciously hosted and catered some of the dishes that we were serving at the shower. It was great having some of the platters catered because cooking for 30-40 people can be a little bit challenging in a small house kitchen. So much more appreciation for catering companies now! Chef’s table is located in an area that is heavily populated with offices so it’s only open from Monday – Friday.

Check out the pictures of the food from the shower, prepared by Chef's Table, myself and Angie's friends:

The restaurant is not huge but it had more than enough room for our guests.
Antipasto and marinated cheese platter, so delicious!

Fig and fennel herbed crostinis – this appetizer was one of my favourites. The flavours worked well together and the different textures from the crunch of the crostini and walnut to the soft texture of the fig were perfect!

Torpedo shrimp with ancho chile sauce - oh my goodness.  It was fried to perfection and the batter was light and airy. (The pic is a bit blurry...)

Fresh veggie rice rolls

Chicken chops in mushu sauce, orange zest and sesame seeds – The chicken was super tender and fell right off the bone.

Veggie shooters - bell peppers, carrots and cucumbers in shot glasses with dip in the bottom. No mess and so easy to make!

Assorted pastries - so delicious!

Assorted cookie platter - chocolate chip, white chocolate and macadamia nuts and triple chocolate cookies!

This watermelon baby carriage is an easy way to add a creative yet edible decoration for any baby shower! The head is made with a cantaloupe and you can mix whatever fruit you want in the basket!

Amazing baby block cakes from AM Sweet Cake and Co. Don`t let the simplicity of the baby blocks fool you, it still takes days to make just like any custom fondant cake!

Congrats to the new parents to be! The fruit baby will have to do until the real one arrives.
