Our taste buds were asking for some Indian food, so without hesitation, we headed over to 5th Elementt Restaurant on Queen Street. I've been to 5th Elementt for Summerlicious in 2011 and had such a good experience that any excuse to return was a good one.

REVIEW | Odd Seoul - snack bar with a cool vibe, creative dishes & drinks

Oddseoul has been on my list of snackbars to try since it opened.  As the second restaurant by the Han brothers (Swish by Han), it was getting great reviews and press. I've only heard great things about their first restaurant, so when this late-night-eatery was opened, I was dying to try it.  I finally got my chance to go last Friday after work for some food & drinks.

REVIEW | Osteria Dei Ganzi - hot new East-End venue featuring a kickass patio & a unique 'Italian Experience'

After hearing about how awesome the new Italian restaurant with a killer patio was, I had to try it out for myself.  Osteria Dei Ganzi, better known as Ganzi Toronto is right on Jarvis St. and Wellesley.  It's about a 5-10 minute walk from Wellesley Station.  We went at an awkward time of 2:30pm for a late lunch, so there weren't too many people as the kitchen closes at 3pm.  I actually liked that it wasn't busy and we were able to enjoy ourselves freely.

REVIEW | Crush Wine Bar - a great way to end Summerlicious 2013

My dinner at Crush Wine Bar ends my 2013 Summerlicious adventures.  I think I did pretty well this year given a hectic work schedule and just overall lack of energy after a day at the office. I managed to try 3 different places and I just realized I had fish as a main for all three of them… I guess my appetite for fish dishes is growing. 

REVIEW | Rosewater Supper Club - good menu for summerlicious

Rosewater Supper Club is another restaurant by the Liberty Group (Spice Route & Ciao Wine Bar are also under that umbrella).  I've been to the Rosewater for a PR function a year or two ago and I remember the food & service being great so I had to revisit during Summerlicious this year.

REVIEW | Ciao Wine Bar - a good place for Italian & wine in Yorkville

I've been to Ciao Wine Bar a few times and had both good and not-so-good experiences. However, I always find myself returning here and recommending this Italian Restaurant/ Wine bar to my friends. For the most recent dinner I had there with a girlfriend, we had a great time with some delicious pizza, pasta and wine.

Birthday Potluck! - Bryan's 25th

Birthdays are always a reason to celebrate! Why not reduce the stress of having to plan out food at a birthday and have a potluck! It’s the best of both worlds.  A creative way to jazz up a birthday pot luck is by asking your guests to bring something creative like our friend Bryan did for his 25^th birthday.

REVIEW | Summerlicious at Wildfire Steakhouse: romantic venue, attentive staff & delicious food

Trying new restaurants during Summerlicious could be a risk but after visiting Wildfire Steakhouse & Wine Bar for lunch, we were impressed at all three courses of the menu, their friendly staff and the beautiful interior.

Located just South Yonge st. and York Mills, it's easily accessible by car or public transportation.  We immediately fell in love with this area as we walked to the restaurant.

REVIEW | Summerlicious at Globe Bistro: think global, eat local.

With Summerlicious finally here in Toronto, Clara and I were super excited to try a few restaurants that we haven't been to.  The very first visit was to the Globe Bistro on the Danforth (at Broadview Station) right before you hit Greektown.  Looking at the menu, we went with high expectations.

The T.O Food Fest series is finally coming to a close. It was such an amazing experience to try all those new things and support local caterers and chefs!

REVIEW | Annona at the Park Hyatt Yorkville - Afternoon Tea that hits all the right notes

 As a post-birthday meetup, my friend and I decided to go for some Afternoon Tea since we were meeting at an awkward mid-afternoon time.  Luckily for us, Annona at the Park Hyatt Yorkville had tea service starting at 3pm, which was perfect.

Park Hyatt is located on Avenue Road and Bloor St., which is one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Toronto.  There's so many shops and boutiques to check out before tea time at Annona.

Three course meals exist for a reason; you gotta finish off your meal with some dessert! Looking back at the photos, I would say we definitely had our fair share of dessert! 

EVENT | T.O Food Fest Part 3 - and the food just keeps on coming...

It was pretty hard to believe we could keep on eating but our stomachs were very accommodating that day. You don't get very many opportunities like this to try so many different kinds of culinary creation!

Still in shock that we ate all that food within such a small time frame. Thank goodness all the portions were small and we split it between a few of us so we could try more! That idea definitely paid off in the end!
