EVENT | T.O Food Fest Part 2 : Slowly starting to fill the bellies

Still in shock that we ate all that food within such a small time frame. Thank goodness all the portions were small and we split it between a few of us so we could try more! That idea definitely paid off in the end!

Urban Acorn was one of the first vendors we tried and I thought their name was very unique so I asked them why their company was named that. Their answer was simple yet made so much sense.

They are a relatively new company that does mostly catering and their symbolism behind the acorn is that it's something small that grows into something much bigger like the tree!

Their two dishes for the day were sliders and wonton... What do you think we ended up trying?

We chose the Duck Confit Wonton! They were perfect  bite size and would be a great way to start any party or event as an appetizer!

I found it to be very crispy and deep fried well without having too much oil which can sometimes ruin a good thing. I would have liked more filling in the dumpling so there was more substance in each bite though.

We also went to try Babi & Co which made Indonesian Street Food. Street food is always a great way to sample a country's cuisine.

As you can see, they were serving a variety of foods but we ended up going with the Babi on a bun, which was the braised pork belly on a fried Chinese bun with sambal mayo.

Just looking at the picture makes me want to go back for more!

It was so tasty and seasoned very well. The crunchiness of the fried bun really offset the succulent braised pork belly.. I would definitely go back for more.

My friend LOVES riceball so when we saw there would be riceballs there, we had to try them!

Again they offered two different types of rice balls, it was interesting to see an Italian dish infused with an Asian twist.

It was definitely hard choosing between the two different types of rice balls!

We decided to go with the Korean Shortrib and Pulled Brisket. For a rice ball that was pretty small in size, it packed a lot of flavour and the kimchi really gave it texture. It's definitely not your traditional rice ball but still very tasty!

When we first approached the Francesca Bakery vendor we only saw desserts but when we walked around a second time we saw they had some rice balls out as well so we had to get one!

This rice ball was about 3 times the size of the one we got from Menu food truck and this was definitely a more traditional rice ball. When I first started eating it, it wasn't as flavourful as the previous one but after I kept eating it, I found it very hard to stop.

It had the right amount of cheese and it was deep fried to perfection with the outer layer being very crispy and the inside was very moist. You can't go wrong with a classic!

It may look like we've already had a lot of food but trust me, there is more to come!
