REVIEW | Wah Sing Seafood Restaurant

Wah Sing Seafood Restaurant is one of those restaurants I went to with my family since I was little and always forget to recommend it to others - it's like a friend that you stop appreciating because they're always there for you (maybe not the best way to describe a restaurant). Recently, we had a dinner with our foodie friends there and the love for the place just grew that much more.

REVIEW | Golden Moon

Chinese restaurants tend to come and go in Mississauga due to the increased competition from existing restaurants or from the sheer volume of new establishments that seem to be popping up. Golden Moon seems to be doing something right as they have been doing quite well in a not so great location that has seen its fair share of tenants in the past.

We’ve been there many times for dinner and every time the restaurant is usually pretty full which is always a good sign. Specializing in Chaozhou and Szechaun cuisine, Golden Moon offers quality food for great value although we have noticed that the portions are becoming smaller than they were before.

REVIEW | Best Dragon Seafood Restaurant

In my opinion, Chinese restaurants usually tend to give the most bang for your buck. You can usually walk out of the restaurant feeling full and satisfied without a deep hole in your pocket. Best Dragon Seafood Restaurant is no exception especially since it's known for its seafood.

REVIEW | Patois - Get a little taste of everything on the menu with The Whole Shebang!

I'm down to try any restaurant that allows you to order the entire menu and Patois' Jamaican Chinese fusion menu definitely sealed the deal. It's certainly nice to have a restaurant that's open on a Monday and takes reservation in the Dundas St. West neighbourhood.

REVIEW | Luckee Restaurant - traditional dim sum elevated with contemporary flavours & ingredients by Susur Lee

Luckee by Susur Lee opened its doors just last month at the Soho Metropolitan Hotel (formerly Sense Restaurant) and it quickly became the talk-of-the-town. Probably because everyone is excited to try Chef Susur Lee's newest restaurant in the City and not to mention that Dim Sum has been quite popular these days with many new takes that restaurants are experimenting with and sold out dim sum festivals!

EVENT | Yum Cha TO Recap - a dim sum festival with Me.N.U, GwaiLo, Babi & Co., Linda Modern Thai, Canoe, Hot Bunzz, Feast TO & La Brea!

There was a lot of buzz about Toronto's very first Dim Sum Festival, called YumchaTO.  Being dim sum lovers ourselves, we didn't hesitate to buy tickets to attend.  It was held at a two-story building in the heart of Chinatown and although ventilation seemed to be a bit of an issue, that didn't stop us from indulging in as many dishes as we could!

REVIEW | C'est Bon Restaurant - Midtown's quick & delicious lunch spot for Chinese food

Most people get an hour for lunch if working a 9-5 job, which I do. When I want to get outside the office, I make sure to look for a restaurant with good food and also speedy service. I recommend taking a visit to C'est Bon in the Midtown neighbourhood that offers both!

2013 Mid Autumn festivities!

It's always great to have a reason to celebrate and eat good food. Mid autumn festival this year on September 19th, 2013 was perfect for just that. Mid autumn festival or harvest moon festival is very well known in Asia in countries such as Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Taiwan and Korea. They may have different names but it's all celebrated on the same day when there is a full moon. Not to worry though, it's not about celebrating werewolves!

REVIEW | Lion City Restaurant - authentic South East Asian cuisine in Mississauga

Lion City Restaurant has been around in Mississauga for more than ten years now serving Malay, Singapore, Thai and Indonesian food. There aren’t any restaurants with this combination of cuisines available in Mississauga so it’s no wonder they’ve been able to stay open for such a long time.

REVIEW | Chinese Dumpling House - Authentic taste for a price that's hard to beat!

I rarely get a craving specific to dumplings but when I do, I'll go to far lengths to satisfy it. Luckily for me, when I got the craving this time, I was already at Metro Square and dumplings were just a few steps away at  Chinese Dumpling House.

REVIEW | The Perfect Kitchen - an oldie but a goodie for Chinese food in Mississauga

The Perfect Kitchen has been around in Mississauga for a while now and it always used to be a family favourite but it's been months since we've last gone. Since my last visit, we've heard from family friends and relatives that's not as good as it used to be which is a shame because there aren't a lot of choice in Mississauga. We decided to go and see for ourselves.

RECIPE | Hong Kong Style Egg Tarts - quick & easy way to make them

I've been getting back into the baking lately and was craving sweets recently so I decided to make some egg tarts. It's impossible to walk a block in Hong Kong without running into a bakery that has the smell of freshly baked egg tarts wafting in the air.

REVIEW | Green Papaya - awesome lunch specials & patio on yonge st.

If you're around a busy area like Yonge & Eglinton, there's always a lot of restaurants to choose from.  However, when I want Thai/ Vietnamese food, I find myself returning to Green Papaya, a cozy little restaurant located just a few blocks North of Eglinton, for its lunch specials.

Song Cook's Mississauga - Korean restaurant popular for Blackbean Noodles (Jjajangmyun)

One of our go-to restaurants for Korean food is Song Cook's - the Mississauga branch.  It's kind of hard to find this place as they have 3 different banners (they really need to change that asap) and none of them say "Song Cook's".  They either say Soft Tofu or Black Bean House in Korean.
