Pho House - there's nothing like a good bowl of Vietnamese Pho noodles

Who doesn't love PHO? Pho is definitely one of our favourite dishes that we crave on a cold day.  As many of you know, Pho is a traditional Vietnamese rice noodle dish with broth, beef, bean sprouts and cilantro.  It's really delicious as any meal of the day (breakfast on weekends for hangovers) and most places have them at such affordable prices.

We went to a local favourite  in Etobicoke called 'Pho House' that specializes in Vietnamese AND Thai cuisine. We especially like this location because it's super close to where Monica lives and this plaza (six points plaza) tends to be our meeting spot.

Paramount Fine Foods - cheers to Middle Eastern food

The best thing about working downtown is there are so many different restaurants to try! You can choose from a variety of chain restaurants or unique one-of-a-kind restaurants. My friends and I decided to try out Paramount Fine Foods - they also have locations in Mississauga and North York as well!

Pot Luck with our friends - Korean BBQ, chobap, deviled eggs & more

Every once in a while, we like to have a pot luck so we can showcase our culinary skills or lack thereof. This time we decided to go with a semi Korean theme.

Kinton Ramen - are you the next kinton bowler?

Do you have what it takes to be a Kinton bowler?? I too, had no idea what that meant but saw it surfacing on the internet everywhere!!  You're officially a Kinton bowler once you've finished a bowl of Kinton Ramen

Valentine's Day Special: Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  It's supposedly the most romantic day of the year, but let's be honest - we're really in it for the delicious treats, right?

This year, Clara and I have been scrambling to be crafty and put some sweets & thoughts into our Valentine gifts.  She came up with the great idea about treat jars (stay tuned for this post) and I suggested some yummy chocolate covered strawberries.

Again, this is a big deal for me, b/c unlike Clara, I'm not so good in the kitchen.

First step in making chocolate-covered strawberries? Buy the goods - strawberries, nuts, semi sweet milk chocolate, white chocolate, and I even go PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE chips!

Winterlicious 2013: Jump - an overall great dining experience

Being an O&B fan, I decided to try one of their restaurant that I haven't been to before, called Jump for another Winterlicious dinner.

Monica at Jump Restaurant with her dessert

Jump is a sleek and modern American bistro style restaurant located in the heart of downtown Toronto, in the business district.  They have a both eclectic and classic interior with sky high glass atrium and beautiful wood in the entire interior.

Miga - a Mississauga restaurant offering authentic Korean food

There's nothing like going out to a restaurant on a Friday night after 30 cm of snow has just fallen. You can pretty much guarantee that restaurants won't be busy (unusual for a Friday night) and the waiters/waitresses will be extra attentive and just happy that you trekked out in the snow to eat out.

Winterlicious 2013 at Canoe - it's not everyday we indulge in culinary creations

Canoe is considered one of Toronto's top restaurants and under the Oliver & Bonacini brand. Getting a reservation there was on a whole level and my friend had to call 250 times before we finally got a reservation!

REVIEW | Sassafraz - winterlicious 2013 in the heart of Yorkville

For those of you who are not familiar, Winterlicious is a culinary event in Toronto that happens during the winter months (stating the obvious, here) where restaurant and cafes offer a prix fixe menu.  Being foodlovers, we weren't going to pass up this opportunity to try new restaurants and revisit old favourites!

Monica had the chance to visit Sassafraz, a well-known restaurant in the Yorkville neighbourhood for lunch last weekend with some friends.

Lime - a good spot for Thai food in Midtown

Yonge and Eglinton is a great place to find something to eat with all the offices around there. I would always walk by Lime, which is a Thai cuisine restaurant. The restaurant has large open concept windows in the front so it's easy to get a good glimpse of what the restaurant looks like. We finally decided to try it on our lunch break.

January 2013 Recap

Wow! Can't believe 2012 went by so fast! I guess we survived the end of the world....which is more reason to celebrate and eat to our heart's content. I thought December was a month of indulging, looking through our photos, it looks like January definitely took the win!

Lunch at Lime, a Thai Asian fusion restaurant near Yonge and Eglinton. Perfect for a quick lunch on your break!
