MoRoCo Chocolat is known as a popular dessert boutique that specialized in chocolates, located in Yorkville. I've been there a number of times for their amazing French macarons, high tea or chocolates - oh, I also had brunch there once but it wasn't memorable. When we were invited for a relaunch of their dining menu by their new chef, Eyal Liebman (founder of L is for...) we were intrigued as to he will elevate the dining experience to this dessert focused boutique!

REVIEW | Mississauga Marketplace Fish and Chips
Although fish and chips may seem like a fairly easy meal to prepare by deep frying a battered covered fish, there are so many components to creating the perfect texture and taste. If you’ve read our review on Homestyle Fish and Chips, you’ll realize that it’s definitely one of our favourite places in Mississauga but it was closed one day so we had to venture out of our comfort zone and decided to try Mississauga Marketplace Fish and Chips.

REVIEW | Grazie Ristorante - one of Monica's all time favourite Italian restaurants
If there is one type of cuisine that I have to eat for the rest of my life, I'd choose Italian. Don't get me wrong, I love all types of food, but if it comes down to one, I can eat endless amounts of delicious pasta, stone-baked pizza, or a chicken Parmesan all day, every day. That being said, one spot in Toronto that I've loved over the years is Grazie on Yonge & Eglinton. Every time I go, I leave satisfied and happy with the service and the food.

LAUNCH | Mojito,Strawberry Daquiri & Pina Colada sans alcohol in froyo form at Yogurty's
How perfect was the 1st day of summer few days ago? We enjoyed the beautiful sun-filled day by going hiking in the Hamilton/Dundas area to the Peak & to Webster's Falls. After a few hours of intense hiking, we were craving something to cool us down. As much as we wanted to go for a cocktail, we didn't want to consume alcohol right after hiking so we went for Yogurty's Froyo! Their three new summer flavours were just what we wanted.

EVENT | ELLICSR Kitchen offers more than just recipes for cancer patients & caregivers
Last month, we were invited to attend an event at the ELLICSR kitchen (inside the Princess Margaret), a health, wellness and cancer survivorship center. In the past, many of the events we attended were menu launches or new restaurant launches, but this time it was slightly different. Don't get us wrong, there were some delicious food but this event left us with a desire to spread the word about the amazing work they're doing here! Read on to see what #twEATup was all about!

WORKSHOP | Trinity Bellwoods Market Class with Chef Cristophe at Le Dolci for a farm-to-table French Cuisine
It’s difficult to truly appreciate a meal until you
personally prepare a meal from start to finish and that’s exactly what Le Dolci
is offering with their new summer market classes.
What originally started as part of a foodie trip to France or Italy is
now a great chance for Torontonians to experience a market class right in the
heart of Trinity Bellwoods.

REVIEW | Sushi Rock Cafe - good sushi & roll combos for lunch at Yonge & Eglinton
Yonge & Eglinton is a bustling place and with all the construction going on, it's only getting busier. As with any other robust neighbourhoods in the city, there's a lot to do and eat around here. Although it doesn't have as many Japanese or sushi restaurants, there's a few I visit for lunch when I get that craving. Sushi Rock Cafe has been serving satisfying lunch combos of rolls, sushi and udon for years and a great alternative to pre made sushi at the food court.

REVIEW | Sabai Sabai Kitchen and Bar - Tasty Thai tapas & cocktails
Ordering an individual meal and only having one dish is
slowly becoming a thing of the past as more restaurants in Toronto are
beginning to offer more tapas style dishes on their menu. Sabai Sabai Kitchen and Bar is no exception offering an assortment of Thai inspired drinks and dishes.

REVIEW | The Hogtown Vegan - a fun take on vegan fare
Vegan food has never been to my go to choice for a meal as I would always prefer to have meat in my meal. Having said that, we all probably have a friend or two who is vegetarian and sometimes we feel bad they always end up choosing a salad from the menu. The Hogtown Vegan is known for their take on restaurant favourites but with a vegan twist on it. I love that the restaurant gets creative and create dishes like "phish and chips" and "shitake fried clams" just to name a few.

REVIEW | JaBistro - another visit for Monica's Friday night sushi craving
Remember my first visit to JaBistro (read review here)? After that pretty-much-perfect dining experience, I've been looking to go back for another meal. A while ago, my mom and I went to a concert at the Roy Thompson Hall and decided to head to JaBistro for a late dinner as we were starving afterwards. This time around, I ordered different menu items from my first visit and made sure to order some of their popular sashimi.

EVENT | Going Peanut Crazy at Evergreen Brickworks - Campfire Inspired Lunch
Last week, I attended an event by the Peanut Bureau of Canada to learn more about peanuts and peanut butter that I love eating on a regular basis. Let me just tell you that hanging out with RD Sue Mah and recipe developer Heather Trim gave me some nutty inspiration by the time they were done teaching me about the powerful peanut. I was spoiled with amazing weather at the beautiful Evergreen Brick Works with some unforgettable food made with peanuts & peanut butter!

EVENT | Mysteriously Yours Murder Mystery - Food Sisterhood at the Dinner Theatre
Last month, we were invited to a murder mystery dinner theatre show at Mysteriously Yours. I personally have not been to a dinner theatre but heard some great things about how interactive and fun it is. I also loved reading crime books as a teen so murder mystery sounded like a great way to spend my Friday night! The show I attended was a Speakeasy theme with flappers and gangsters and guns... oh my - the opening night of East Side Marion's Emerald City Night Club.

REVIEW | The Shore Grill & Grotto has a wide range of menu options, delicious food & a great patio!
Patio season is here in Toronto - and it's about time! The sunny afternoon this weekend led me to one of my favourite neighbours in Toronto - Port Credit for dinner and a stroll by the marina. All the restaurants were bustling with hungry diners or people enjoying a drink or two, soaking in the sunshine. I made reservations, so it wasn't too long until we got a seat at the Shore Grill & Grotto.
