The Social Cupcake - such a gem in Port Credit area

Over the weekend, we were so excited to visit a cupcake shop in Port Credit (in Mississauga) that Clara  dropped by a couple of weeks ago accidentally and fell in love with.  If you've ever been to the Port Credit Area,  you know that it has many shops, restaurants, a quaint park and a marina.

The Social Cupcake is located on the main lakeshore road so you can't miss it!  It was actually their one year anniversary over the weekend and they had an amazing deal of 50% off a dozen cupcakes!

They had a display of mini cupcakes - free to try -and a huge chocolate cake to celebrate their one year anniversary.  We met with Jennifer, one of the owners at the shop and you can really see the appreciation she has for all her customers!  Check out the big cake below.

How delicious do these mini cupcakes look?! They were free to sample.

For those of you with allergies, The Social Cupcake is a peanut and tree-nut free bakery and they offer gluten-free cupcakes, which Clara picked up for her sister.  Not a lot of bakeries cater to this group of customers, so it's great to see a wide range of delicious cupcakes for everyone here!

They also take orders for cakes and cupcakes for special events.
You can see how you can create your customer cake or cupcakes here.

They usually have the most popular flavours like: Chocolate, Vanilla, Red Velvet, and Cookies & Cream everyday with 3 to 4 varied flavours.  On the day of our visit, they had: Stuffed Lemon, Raspberry Snowball, Chocolate Salted Caramel and Rainbow Vanilla.

Click here to see their full list of flavours. I really want to try to Boston Cream!

I have to say, the Raspberry Snowball was my personal favourite - raspberry cupcake with cream cheese buttercream topped with coconut.  I'm usually not a fan of coconut but this was just too good!

My second favourite was the Stuffed Lemon - lemon cupcake filled with lemon curd (yum!) topped with lemon cream cheese icing.  I know it sounds like a lot of lemon, but it wasn't overwhelming at all, but a perfect way to taste the lemon flavour.

How a perfect cupcake should be: soft & moist cake with just the right amount of icing.  Even though the icing looks highly stacked on the cupcakes, it is actually weightless & easy to eat.

They had the perfect cake to icing ratio.

As you can see, Clara and I picked up a good amount of cupcakes for ourselves and for our friends!

Thank you to Jennifer at The Social Cupcake for having us!  If you guys are in the area, be sure to check out this delicious little shop and let us know which flavour is YOUR favourite.
