REVIEW | What to expect & indulge in at Destingo for Winterlicious 2015

My first visit to Destingo was during Winterlicious last year (read review here) and I can't forget the experience because I fell in love with their tiramisu. This year, this Italian restaurant is offering up a Winterlicious menu once again so if you haven't been, it's a great opportunity to see what Destingo has to offer in a 3-course meal.

The interior of the restaurant as I mentioned in last year's post, is very open and spacious, rustic and  charming. It's a great spot to go for a date or with a group of people for a special occasion as they have a large room off the main dining area just for that.

Location-wise, the restaurant is right on the corner of Queen Street West and Tecumseth Street.

Here are the photos of Destingo's Winterlicious menu offerings that we tried at the launch:

Destingo's signature house-made bread
delicious start to the meal - the photo doesn't do this bread justice!

Calamari Fritti
Fried calamari with jalapeño aioli

Verde Salad (vegetarian)
Arugula, Ontario Granny Smith apples, toasted walnuts, parmesan with a Champagne pear vinaigrette

Caprese Salad
Vine tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh basil & extra virgin olive oil with a balsamic reduction

Pizza Margherita (vegetarian)
Topped with mozzarella & fresh basil

 Spaghetti Primavera (vegetarian)
Spinach, artichoke, bell peppers & garlic aioli

New York Steak
7oz. grilled AAA beef with red wine demi-glaze

Tiramisu, Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse & Apple Strudel

A lot of the times, Winterlicious can be a hit or mss, where you can have a bad experience at even the best rated restaurants. However, both times we've gone, we've had good service and delicious food at Destingo.

Destingo is offering both lunch ($18.00) and dinner ($25.00) services for Winterlicious 2015.
