Are you a brunch lover like myself? Then, I suppose you've already hit your favourite brunch spots this summer or maybe found a new gem in your neighbourhood. I love brunch because it's the perfect excuse to go back to the diner that you've been going for years or to discover a new place and catch up with friends over delicious food and coffee. Summer brunches are the cream of the crop, the cherry on top for me since I can eat on the patio and enjoy the warm sunshine that is becoming such a rarity in Toronto (haha). Last weekend, a few girls and I got together at Aroma Espresso Bar's Liberty Village location for some brunchin' and boozin - yes, you read that right.

They're the perfect desserts for any occasion, and there's nothing more satisfying than that first cut into a cake. There's definitely an abundance of bakeries across Toronto, including one that we came across recently, called: La Dulce Torta.

REVIEW | Sweet O'Clock

Although we're still a little confused about summer in Toronto this year, there are days where I would love for nothing but a nice cold drink on a patio and there are days/nights where I wish I could crank up the heat in my house. For those hot and sweaty days, there's really nothing like a cold drink or a cold dessert to cool you down - I'm talking about some Taiwanese crushed ice desserts and milk teas!

Can you believe that we've stepped into August, nearing the end of summer? We're obviously hoping that the hot weather will continue until at least October (please, please, please).  In the meantime, Clara and I have been indulging in ice cream, popsicles, frozen yogurt, parfaits - you name it - to keep cool.  From those, froyo is definitely the most fun to make, especially the ability to make your own creation with a variety of toppings & sauces.

REVIEW | Yasu

Just over a year ago, Yasu Sushi Bar opened in Harbord Village, sending a buzz around Toronto about the newest spot for the best nigiri.  We, of course were intrigued and couldn't wait to try it - what took us so long, right? Finally, we made reservations and experience the sushi-only omakase at Yasu, first hand.

Omakase translates to a meal, comprised of Chef's selections.  Yasu offers an 18-course Chef-selected nigiri meal with a dessert at the end.
