Holy Chuck - their business is burgers

As fans of burgers, we had to take the time to go to the much-talked-about burger joint in Toronto call Holy Chuck.  It's been facebook/twitter/blogged about by many people and it was finally our turn!

There's a huge menu of their specialty burgers and a bunch of others on the side wall near the cash desk.  Good luck making a choice from all the unique & interesting burgers...

I opted for the Mad Cow Burger: PANKO CRUSTED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM STUFFED WITH FETA & CREAM CHEESE, DEEP FRIED, TOPPED WITH LETTUCE, TOMATO & LEMON HERB AIOLI with a jr. cheeseburger.

I've had a similar burger from The Priest Burger - the deep fried cheese-stuffed portobello is what drew me in.  I have to say though the burger was really yummy and flavourful, the feta & cream cheese was a bit too heavy.  I couldn't finish this one!

That's myself and Clara taking a bite out of our burgers (YUM!)

Clara got their signature burger, the Holy Chuck: DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER WITH BACON & CARAMELIZED ONIONS.  Without so many toppings to distract from the actual burger, you're able to really enjoy their high quality beef patties.  One of the best burgers we've had!

Our friend who came with us to the restaurant is a bacon fan.  It's no surprise that he got the You Fat Pig: TWO 100% ALL BACON PATTIES, TRIPLE CHEESE, CRISPY BACON & TOPPED WITH HOMEMADE CREAMY BACON DRESSING.

The bacon patties were tender but the burger as a whole was too heavy to eat.

We shared the Raging Bull Fries.  It comes with DOUBLE BACON, DOUBLE CHEESE & FRESH SAUTÉED HOT BANANA PEPPERS, SMOTHERED IN RAGING BULL GRAVY.  This was very spicy and our tongues were on fire! The fries were of good texture though.

We were definitely NOT brave enough for their Go Chuck Yourself Challenge... but check out all the winners on the wall!  Eating that huge burger in 6 minutes?  We're impressed.

We're going to have to come back to try all the other burgers and fries that we didn't get to try this time around.  From what we had there, we can tell why there's such a buzz about this place.  Their friendly service, clean clean & quirky environment and delicious burgers makes this place a gem in Toronto.
