Most holiday people strive to host the perfect dinner, from the perfect appetizers to the perfect turkey and dessert. Sure, those are all important aspects of hosting but what about the moment your guests walk in the door? This year, we're focusing on all the same things while using President's Choice Insiders Collection.
This year, we're experimenting with a drink and a easy muncher for when your guests are waiting for diner to start.
PC Insiders Collection has created 4 categories: Brunch, Gift, Dinner and Mingle to help us all out for the upcoming holidays. Each category has a bunch of products and recipes that are easy and straight forward to make.
We started off with the PC Insiders Collection Mingle category and chose to use:
1. PC Black Label Ginger Pink Lemonade Sparkling Beverage
2. PC Blue Menu Lemon Sparkling Water with Natural Beverage
3. PC Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar Jumbo Cashews
The products outside of the Mingle category that we`re going to be using are fresh blackberries and raspberries, lime and PC milk chocolate.
We figured we would go with an easy mocktail that's easy to change depending on who your guests are.
Merry Berry Pink Lemonade
Ingredients:
1/2 cup fresh fruit
1/4 cup PC Black Label Ginger Pink Lemonade Sparkling Beverage
1 cup PC Blue Menu Lemon Sparkling Water with Natural Beverage
Directions:
1. Mash the berries or fruit of your choice in a bowl and set aside.
2. Mix the sparking beverage, sparkling water and fresh fruit together in a cup
3. Garnish with lemon/lime slice
Tip: To make this an alcoholic drink, add a bottle of white wine and let the fruits soak in the flavour overnight for a fun sangria! Add some whole fruits in addition to the fruits you've crushed and experiment with different fruits such as oranges, apples etc.
If you just want a simple cocktail, add a shot of vodka or tequila to your drink and get the party started!
Chocolate Drizzled Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar Cashews
Ingredients:
1/2 bag of PC Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar Jumbo Cashews
1/3 bar of PC milk chocolate
Directions:
1. Melt the milk chocolate (or dark/white) in a microwavable bowl
2. Lay out cashews on a baking sheet with parchment paper
3. Drizzle or coat your cashews with the melted chocolate
4. Let cool or pop back into the oven for a quick toast. If you're toasting them in the, make sure the nuts cool completely before eating as they come out soft right out of the oven!
Tip: You can add a variety of nuts to make it more like a trail mix or add dried fruit to try something new!
